During milking a cow would never stand still. Once an old woman brought a salted a slice of bread for the cow and said: “Take it, poor creature, and stand still. I will bring you more bread, if you are calm.” The next evening a billy-goat returned from the pasture earlier than a cow. It came up to the old woman and stood there with his legs apart. The old woman tried to keep him off, waving a hand towel. But a billy-goat was standing there motionless. He remembered that the old woman promised to give a slice of bread, if he stood still. Seeing that a billy-goat did not obey, the old woman took a stick and lashed him to keep him away. As soon as the goat went away, the old woman went on calming the cow with bread. The billy-goat thought: “These human beings seem to be unfair. I was standing there calmer than the cow, but she lashed me for nothing.” He moved away a little farther, took a run and gave a strong butt to the old woman. The latter was turned upside down together with her milkpot. Все тексты взяты из открытых источников и выложены на сайте для не коммерческого использования.
